Did We Survive Hurricane Katrina or Not?

Someone out there must have really been praying for us to have a functional kitchen before Christmas. That's the only explanation. So whoever you are -- thank you from the bottom of my heart. *hug*

The phone woke me up this morning. I was sleeping late cause I just had no reason to wake up really. It was Blythe Plumbing calling to apologize for not calling earlier... and to further apologize for not being able to get to us until about December 27th. The guy was nice and everything but by the time I got off the phone I felt totally deflated.

I decided to get out of the house and take all the kids to spend the day with Mom instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself. And so that's what we did.. and we were having a great day when the cell phone rang again. It was Blythe Plumbing. The guy said he needed to come by and see what we needed done. Yes - I told him that someone had already called and said they couldn't get to us... But he insisted that that was exactly why he was calling. He said he'd be at the house within 5 minutes. Er.. of course I wasn't home. I called Dave and told him to rush home and meet a plumber.

Then we continued our visit with Mom and had a totally pleasant afternoon. (Thanks, Mom.)

When we got home... the plumber was still here. Not only did he come by to see what we needed -- but he actually installed our sink and the drain for the dishwasher! Not only that.. but right about that time we got a call from the electrician who wanted to know if he could come by and see what we needed done! Yes! And he came! And he not only looked around - but just like the plumber - he stayed and installed all of our appliances!

So we officially have a functional kitchen. Just like that. Sudden. Surprising. Miraculous.
