As of today, the dishwasher is still not here. The installer is sick and in the hospital, we're told. After several dozen phone calls we still don't know where it is or when it can get here.

The computer arrived late Tuesday night and I guess we're keeping it. We lost two computers and somehow we managed to get two computers back. We can definitely use them both and as long as we can make miniscule payments it should be okay.

Vernon from the Carpet & Tile Store came on Thursday to measure our floors and said he would call or we could come by the store to see what he came up with. We will need to then decide if we want to go with carpet throughout or perhaps laminate here and there. He told me that laminate and wood are not that far apart in price and of course wood is much more valuable when you need to sell.

Dave was home from work on Thursday because he had to work 3rd shift on Thursday and Friday. He was so tired and so messed up he said he'd never work 3rd shift again.

New Century Roofing came to measure for a roof repair estimate on Wednesday. Doris came to check on the estimate on Saturday. We signed the contract for the work. They should be ready in 2 1/2 to 3 weeks.

Mike from work loaned Dave his truck for the weekend so I would not be carless while he is at work late. Dave used the truck to get topsoil for the yard and garden. We hope that Mike might sell the truck to us. We will find out on Monday.

We also learned this week that since the insurance check is made out to both us and CUNA mortgage that we have to send the check to them. They will hold half the money and disburse the rest to us. We have prepared the letter and the check and will mail it tomorrow. I guess we can't argue - but Dave will also call again and ask about whether or not they can release the entire check to us now because we need the entire check for the immediate repairs.

We also prepared an application for assistance from the Mississippi Realtor Hurricane Relief Fund. It will be mailed on Monday as well. I think the deadline passed, but it's worth a shot anyway.
