A couple of days ago, Todd over at the Helpful Advice for Home Construction Improvement blog was nice enough to include this blog among his top five blogs he reads on a regular basis. We are sincerely flattered here at DWSHKON. Thank you!
Now, the reason it has taken me a couple of days to blog this is that I have been trying to figure out my own 'top five' list to post here - and it's not easy. Don't get me wrong - I have read some really great or inspiring or funny blogs in the past. However, it's a question of what exactly entails 'a regular basis'. Sometimes months pass before I decide to blog-read - and then I go on a veritable binge and read well into the night.... I usually intend to start reading every one of those blogs on a regular basis - but then someone gets pneumonia or a tire goes flat or I have to paint a room... and blog-reading falls by the wayside again.
I think I can come up with a top five of my favorites -- even if I'm not a regular reader. We'll call it the Top Five Blogs I would read on a regular basis if I actually had time to read blogs on a regular basis:
1. Saskawhere? I love Swapna's blog. I envy her writing abilities. I never fail to giggle through her posts. And I appreciate the fact that she's as bad about updating her blog regularly as I am about reading regularly. Thanks, Swapna.
2. I Will Make Everything New My mother's blog is the only blog I do actually read on a regular basis. If not for her blogs I would probably have no clue what was going on in Pascagoula or the rest of the world.
3. Little Cotton Rabbits I absolutely love cute little knit animals. I also love this blog. I just wish I could visit more often.
4. Thursday Night Gumbo Fascinating, informative, witty and usually way above my head. Hats off to Woodward and Vehige.
5. Thanks Katrina Judy in Slidell is one of the few people on earth still blogging about Katrina - because Katrina still needs to be blogged about.
So there you have it... The five blogs that would definitely make my day every day if I could actually read them everyday.

Just came across this post. Vehige and I are immensely flattered. (By the way, I'm the one who's fascinating and witty; Vehige's the one who's usually over people's heads.)
Best of luck. Our prayers are with you and all your neighbors.
