The New To-Do List

Yep. With talk of hammers and chisels and ripping out walls -- it's time for a new to-do list.

Downstairs (the irritating stuff that has yet to be completed):

1.) Replace two sets of french doors leading to backyard before they fall out of the frames.
2.) Install boxes and covers for electrical outlets in floor of living room (it's dark in here!)
3.) Camoflauge gap between newly replaced bathroom mirror and cabinet (oops! something's not square anymore) in master bath
4.) Paint exterior - windows doors trim
5.) Replace rotten porch columns front and back (hopefully this is purely cosmetic...)
6.) Replace rotten door frame - garage access door
7.) Install carpet on stairs (Yes - we are getting splinters but we're saving this one until the upstairs repairs are complete for obvious reasons)

Upstairs

Bathroom
1.) Remove old shower/tub unit
2.) Repair subfloor as necessary
3.) Install floor tile - and possibly shower/tub surround since a one piece unit will not fit through
the existing doorways
4.) Install new tub
5.) Prime and paint walls
6.) Remove and replace trim

Bedrooms (both of them)

1.) Remove old trim
2.) Repair sheetrock
3.) Move walls around if possible
4.) Prime and paint everything
5.) Remove and replace water-damaged carpet
6.) Replace trim

Other stuff:

1.) Replace water-damaged ceiling lights in every upstairs room
2.) Install lighting in gameroom/library
3.) Paint ceilings throughout house (Eeek I'm not looking forward to this one at all...)

And .... before any of this can be completed there is one obvious very large repair: REPLACE ROOF

Wow! That's a really short to-do list. I'm impressed. Remember when it was this long?

I'm suddenly really proud of us. I'm going to go drink copious amounts of iced tea at nearly 1 am and continue being really proud of us in celebratory fashion.

You know it's 1 am and you've had too much tea when you decide to leave a comment on your own blog rather than open up the editor to edit the post... But.. I just realized I left the garage off the to-do list entirely. There's much to be done out there.. but after all this time remodeling the garage seems more like the sort of thing you do when you're bored out of your mind and have lots of money to waste.
