The news about The Point is exciting

The Point: August 2006

From the Mississippi Press today:
The news about The Point is exciting: "The news Monday is Northrop Grumman plans to close the site for 15 days beginning on March 12 to do ground testing. Tests were taken in 2005 after the company found potential problems. According to Bo Cole, Pascagoula athletic director, the company must conduct the testing before the property can be given to the city.

The city has big, spectacular plans for The Point. So, if there are soil problems, it would benefit the city and the company if those problems are addressed to make this plan work. The Point is one area that defines Pascagoula. The city is earmarking $750,000 to pay for The Point project which includes marina piers, docks and restrooms."
