Mom has posted a link to another blog and the YouTube video here:
Camille and Katrina Were Not Ladies
This stuff is better than prime time TV.
"Decency" wasn't strong enough as far as I'm concerned. I'm tired - tired - tired - tired of people who have absolutely no clue what they're talking about regarding Katrina and the Mississippi Gulf Coast making idiotic statements or yammering on about 'fiscal responsibility'. Everyone says 'You just won't understand until you've seen it." And that's close... Only close.... I say, 'You just won't understand unless you've lived it.'
Gene Taylor knows what he's talking about.
Now after cruising around in various internet locales checking out the buzz on the little sideshow on the House floor.... The thing that surprises me most is the almost total silence regarding Mr. Taylor's comments regarding Bechtel & ties to the Bush Administration. Sixteen-thousand dollars to tow a trailer 70 miles... And leave it sitting in a yard for weeks and months with no hookups.... No stair access... No keys. How much to tow them back? Another sixteen thousand? Thirty to forty thousand dollars spent on the transportation of 20 foot trailers when I'd hazard to guess that at least half of the households could have made their houses livable again if they'd had the option of the trailer or the cash that was to be spent buying and transporting the trailers. Ridiculous!!!
