Phase I: Katrina Rennovation.... Not... quite

I was up super early again this morning - in time to see a great armageddon-type sunrise in the middle of a squall. The weather must have slowed down our painting friends because they still haven't arrived for the day.

Patience is hard to come by around here.

We finally have the money to get started. We have a contractor. We even have a contract. But this is day three and nothing has been done. I know - I know... all of the cabinet doors and hardware have been removed and the cabinets have gotten a light sanding and wipe-down and that's something -- but it's something that I could have easily done myself in a fraction of the time. (And that's with all of the kids and animals scurrying around.) If only we'd known, we would have prepped it ourselves... but we were under the impression that professionals would zip through it all a lot faster than we could.

So we were wrong and I'm trying to be patient. It will get done. Eventually.
