Grant process long, tedious - The Clarion-Ledger: "Hurricane Katrina victims have complained vociferously about the state's grant-awarding process, blaming government officials for stalling their recovery by moving at a snail's pace to process applications.

'No four letter words?' said one Pascagoula applicant, Jack Dickinson, searching for a way to express his frustration. 'They have done nothing.'


So far, a few dozen of 17,000 applicants have received checks."
