The FEMA inspector came today. I'm not sure what he's doing - but he came here. Nice guy with a really cool-looking laptop. Must be nice to work for FEMA.
Dave also managed to get through to the Red Cross and apply for financial assistance. It only took two weeks and a few hundred phone calls. They wired the money to him and thankfully this time Western Union actually was able to cover it. We can use some of the money to finish paying Scott for the flood restoration work.
We have thrown out more furniture since we came back. The sofa and our bed are gone now. We are using George's mattress from upstairs to sleep on the floor. The upstairs air conditioning has gone out again and we are going to have to bring the boys down so we'll bring William's mattress for them to share. It's a shame because our plan was to sleep upstairs but we haven't been able to do it. Even when the air conditioning was working up there we realized that we would not be able to get both baby beds upstairs. The boys have been sleeping in their rooms, however, and are not looking forward to sleeping on the floor again.
Dave's mother has ordered a bed for us and it should be delivered on the 19th. We can make it a couple more days I think - and then at least the boys won't have to share their mattress anymore.
