Did We Survive Hurricane Katrina or Not?

I've been out of bed for a while now -- but I'm still not actually awake. "Slim" has been here for who knows how long this morning painting away at the entertainment center in the living room.

No cabinet doors yet - but they weren't expected this early. I'll go sip coffee until I can keep my eyes open and report more later....

11:07 am - Dean has arrived with some doors. The doors look good. There are only some doors... sort of randomly selected for delivery. What this means is we're going to have doors sort of randomly installed today. I'll take some pictures of the ridiculousness later.

11:18 am - One door being installed. The cutouts for the hinges were drilled in the wrong place. The hinges don't line up. I had to translate this from the contractor native tongue - the original of which was: "Oh it's no problem... the new hinges are just different from the old hinges." Me: "You mean they're in the wrong place?" Him: "They're different that's all."

Different = Wrong

Please keep in mind that there are no "new" hinges and "old" hinges. All hinges in question have been sitting in a basket on the kitchen shelf for the last six months.

I'll update when door two is being installed.

12:05 pm: Okay - so that wasn't true. So far there are about six doors installed.
