Did We Survive Hurricane Katrina or Not?

It's a bad day for weather. We've been getting scary weather reports since early yesterday evening.... From today's forecast at WLOX: "Parameters appear to be coming together for a very active severe thunderstorm event across the Mississippi gulf coast. Expect thunderstorms with heavy rain at times!!!" So far we've had some heavy downpours, a bit of thunder, and a few gusts of wind. I'm not complaining. I've had enough severe weather to last a while.

It's a good day for - oh say, framing a skylight shaft... Or at least it seems to be. The guys are here working away this afternoon and they've come a long way. It looks great so far and I don't have to use much imagination to picture what it will look like finished now.



So how's this for irony? The heavy rain earlier this afternoon gave the guys a chance to witness the leaking skylight first-hand... But - uh - the wrong skylight leaked. That's two leaking. The irony? Neither leaking skylight is the cracked skylight. Yeah - that's not funny, is it? On the bright side - we did buy that third flashing kit.
