The Sun Herald | 06/13/2006 | No rain in sight

The redbud that Dave bought for our anniversary last year - thrilled us a couple of months ago when it bloomed in spite of being submerged in salt water last August.... But the drought has now taken its toll.

The Sun Herald | 06/13/2006 | No rain in sight: "Meteorologists at the National Weather Service in New Orleans said the west side of the storm will help keep a trough of dry air over the Coast, preventing any rain from getting into the area until next week.

South Mississippi has about a 21-inch rain deficit for the year and is in an extreme drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor."
