It's been a while since I've indulged in a good tag....

So I'm pretty happy to have been tagged by Sandy over at http://curlyscorner-sandy.blogspot.com/. I always love stopping by her spot to see what goodies she has in store for me -- and I've got to admit I never fail to get a giggle or two out of my visits.

Ah and this tag just happens to be about one of my favorite obsessions: books!

This is how the tag works.......

Share seven random or weird Book facts about yourself. Then tag seven other people.

Notify the seven others that they have been tagged.

So here goes.....

1. Dave & I both love books and had a rather large bookcase built as part of our renovations to house our huge collection -- however - our bookcase still sports plenty of empty space because so many of our books are constantly 'checked out' and lingering on kitchen counters... desks... and bathroom shelves at any given time.

2. A quick survey of our house reveals that not a single room of our house is without at least one book at this moment. (And it's a safe bet that this is always the case!) I think this is sort of a rip-off of #1 above - but still....

3. Between Dave & I we own five copies of George Orwell's 1984, six different editions of the perennial college textbook Western Civilization, and two complete sets of C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia. (We also own the complete audiobook set, but this isn't an audiobook tag..)

4. I love to purchase old dusty books from antique stores & flea markets without even reading the titles. Sometimes years pass before I ever get a chance to look at what I've accumulated. Therefore - I have the luxury of 'discovering' a fascinating text in the comfort of my own home.

5. I learned the art of speed-reading during my freshman year of college -- and though my skills aren't quite as polished as they were back then... I'm still capable of devouring a full-length novel in a couple of hours between diaper changes and hanging drywall.

6. A beautiful hardcover edition can make some of the most terrible writing almost bearable.

7. The first full-length book I ever read: Robert C O'Brien's Mrs. Frisby & the Rats of N.I.M.H. Read (again) most recently: Ayn Rand's We the Living. Currently reading: Catholicism for Dummies

And now for the tagging!

Well... Uh.. Actually... I don't have much time to properly tag folks tonight so I'd like to leave this one open to anybody who wants to play (just consider yourself tagged on my behalf). I would like to see answers from Cassie@Fuchu, Hanna@Cost of Living, and Swapna@Saskawhere in particular... Hint hint hint.

If you do decide to join in - please be sure to leave a comment on this post so we all know to come check out your answers.

What a great post (and I got to see that lovely "library" again). I thought that was the best room addition EVER -- but I supposed I would because I love books too!
