Now back to our regularly scheduled program....

A lovely living room wall.

So, I had gotten rather side-tracked with this baby-having business... but that doesn't mean nothing was happening around the house on the home repair front. Well.. not that a LOT was happening on the home repair front -- but delays had very little to do with my pregnancy.

Our last home repair crew expected to be done with their $30,000 job in three weeks - but allowed themselves four weeks... you know, for unforseen circumstances. That three weeks began September 16th. It ended October 7th. The unforseen circumstances week ended October 14th. Today is November 30th. Guess what? That's right... Not finished.

They're close enough, however. Close enough for us to just be ready for them to get out of our house so we can fix whatever we don't like. Yes, we have been here before in case you were wondering.

The soon-to-be Christmas tree wall.

Now that I'm almost back in action - we're ready to restart our own repairs... starting with getting a final coat of paint on the walls in the living room in preparation for the Christmas tree. Sheetrock repairs have been sanded... Texture applied.... Time for paint.

Yes - it's VERY ugly... but nothing some paint and an oversized switch plate cover can't camoflauge.

Oooo I saw some awesome new plate covers...I shall send you the link. In the meantime, ponder this: If I told you I had ordered a dark hardwood for our floors, but it was kind of a deep burnished orange, not a cherrywood, but orangeish..would you be frightened? Everyone else is!

Actually it sounds gorgeous! Orange doesn't frighten me!
