Trailers' proximity to Coast questioned - The Clarion-Ledger

Trailers' proximity to Coast questioned - The Clarion-Ledger: "Despite recent claims made by researchers that this year's hurricane season could be more fierce than last year's, Purvis will remain a staging site for the 7,400 old and unused FEMA trailers kept there, FEMA response liaison Debra Wing said.

'Purvis is a good location because it's close to the Coast but not in the line of a hurricane,' Wing said."

Uhm... I was glad to see that there were plenty of people at various levels of government who do not agree with this statement.. such as Beau Gex - Rep. Gene Taylor's district chief of staff:

"We have suggested that FEMA move the trailers," Gex said. "But talking to FEMA is like talking to a brick wall, only you get a better response from the brick wall."
