It's the day after what wasn't Cabinet Door Day!

So the alarm went off at 5:30 am and though I knew we were told that someone would be coming today at 6:00 am to do something around the house -- I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed.
And it's a good thing too... since no one showed up at 6:00 am.

Dave came in before he left for work to tell me to stay in bed until the phone rang or someone rang the doorbell. He said Dean hadn't answered his phone yet....

Dean returned the calls around 7:15 am.

He said there was a miscommunication and someone should have been here.

When "Slim" (not his real name) showed up a few minutes later he explained that he got held up at another job this morning.

Talk about miscommunication.

So... Currently, "Slim" is here doing some odds and ends stuff.

Dean came through the house around 11 am and stopped by the sofa where I was sitting in a daze to tell me that the cabinet man still doesn't have everything painted but has a few doors finished which they will install tomorrow. He said there was some trouble with getting gnats in the paint and there just isn't anything that can be done until the gnats are gone.

Ahem. We live in severe southern Mississippi... The gnats won't be gone until mid-December.
What the heck??

I'm trying to figure out how exactly gnats have become a factor anyway - considering that about a month ago we were informed that our cabinet doors were going to stay with cabinet man rather than return to Dean the Paintmaster because Paintmaster doesn't have an indoor painting area and was being stalled and otherwise thwarted by adverse weather conditions. He said that cabinet man DID have an indoor shop and so painting would go more smoothly.....

Apparently his indoor shop has been infested with gnats? And considering the excuse of three weeks ago which involved some painting delays due to rain... The gnats probably got in through the hole in the ceiling.

More theorizing later. I'm gonna go grind my teeth and practice glaring now.

LOL I can not believe the excuses this man makes. So now he will probably bring you four doors at a time. With forty something he should be finished next May. I don't understand, gnats are outside .. I have lots of gnats outside but not a single gnat inside. Well what that tells me is that none of the doors were painted. Do you think I am correct?

I think somebody is up there with a can of spray paint as I type this trying to get four doors painted for tomorrow.

Can't wait to see what they actually LOOK LIKE.
