Finally - after 113 days - we sat down or stood up or whatever and had a heart-to-heart with our contractor, Dean. It was pretty rocky at first -- as I think it should have been... But eventually we were able to air all of our concerns and discomforts. Dean, in turn, explained his position, his mindset, and his assumptions. It became clear that what we've had all along is a failure to effectively communicate.
Ah - but isn't that what it's always about?
Well - okay it's not. Sometimes it has nothing to do with communication and somebody's just trying to scam you.... But after talking with Dean this afternoon I feel pretty confident that this is not the case.
Hopefully - from this point forward the lines of communication will remain open and progress will be a bit more tangible around here.
