They rather quickly got to work on tiling the surround while Dave and I started repainting the dining room. We had previously slapped on a thin coat just to cover raw sheetrock... Uh but that was over a year ago. It's time to start patching up the paint jobs throughout the house.

Dave hasn't been feeling all that great anyway - and taking the day off to rest shouldn't have included painting... But I think it made him feel better to have accomplished something.
"Clint" and "Moe" stayed until just after 3pm and got a good bit of tile in place. The plan was to tile the horizontal surface of the surround first... then tile the floor in front of the fireplace today as well. However, when we moved to the fireplace we realized we still had a lot of questions about how the trim kit for the firebox was going to fit and whether or not the tile would end up in the way. Dave took a drive to Blossman gas where he was told that they shouldn't tile the fireplace until the rest of the trim was in place. Hrmph.
Blossman is supposed to be here to install the trim kit next Wednesday - so we're facing a substantial delay in getting the fireplace finished. Hopefully - the rest of Dean's crew will stay busy in the meantime getting up some trim and baseboards and so on.
Soooo I'll leave you with pictures of the tub surround so far.... And then get some rest in preparation for "Clint" and "Moe" arriving around 7:30 am again tomorrow.
