I thought the lunch idea was fantastic - but when I talked to Mom and she said she didn't feel up to going... Then I decided that we could only go out for a late lunch if we stopped by Lowe's to look at jacuzzis and tile first.
Sometimes I do make some really stupid decisions.
The first hour and a half at Lowe's was spent trying to get prices for AquaGlass tubs. I wasn't particularly interested in AquaGlass.. and had initially thought that it would be worth finding out about them so we could compare against other brands... However, the whole process took so long that we didn't get prices on any other brands. We did get a price for a soaking tub, the jetted model, and the air bath model.... All for a tub that I really don't want at all! Yay!
That first fruitless hour and a half really primed the kids for the next aisle: tile. I was determined this time to pick out SOMETHING for the fireplace and the bathroom... So I subjected us all to another hour and a half in Lowe's. I can't say that I successfully picked out any tile.. but I did grab a few pieces to bring home. Why I needed to bring them home - I don't know.. I guess so I could be absolutely certain that they really weren't what I was looking for...
So do I go with the neato border that doesn't at all match the rest of the decor and the rather blah whitish tile....
Then there's the brown tile and the scrolling trim.. which is all good except I am starting to feel paranoid about all the brown stuff around the house....Oh I just don't know!! I think I decided to change the fireplace tile from white to brown too... What's this weird obsession with earthy stuff anyway?

Not that I want to add to the confusion, but I'm unable to stop myself. I like the scroll trim, I'm not into the neato trim for the bathroom cuz it looks too blah. So back to the scroll trim, I really do like it, but what if you did neato dark rusted metal instead of tiles or would that be too outdoorish? And I like the earthy feel, I do, plus if it floods again maybe you could let some green moss cover part of the walls and it would be like a cool underwater cavern...see, I'm thinking ahead!
LOL When I was asked to join "Yall" for lunch I was going to accept but when you said we would go to Lowe's first, I declined. Lunch sounded like a good idea, going to Lowe's with 4 young children didn't. LOL I enjoy reading your writings on happenings within your family.
