The cooktop is out and the remaining island counter is ready to come off. The paint is drying under the kitchen window -- soon to need a second coat. Yes - this is how we spend our evenings relaxing once the kids are settled.
We got a call from Custom Interiors late this evening scheduling a time tomorrow for installing our countertops. They should arrive around 9:30 am and I plan on being ready.
The countertops are definitely the single most expensive thing in our kitchen repair plans. Therefore, I am terrified. Remember my grout fears? Remember? That's right. And were those grout fears totally unfounded? No, they weren't. And that's why my countertop fears are even worse.
However, in an effort not to jinx myself this time - I am going to state here.. publicly and 'on the record' so to speak.. that I have the utmost confidence in our countertop fabricators and installers. I am sure they know exactly what they're doing - and even if a teeny tiny problem arises during installation -- they will swiftly find an acceptable work-around. *fingers crossed*
