Did We Survive Hurricane Katrina or Not?

I got a phone call from my friend Heather this morning and I'm happy to report that she has received her grant package from MDA. She was very happy with the amount and said she'll be able to move on now -- and soon. There is only a slab left where her house used to stand. She and her three young children have been sharing a 23 foot FEMA trailer for almost eleven months. She plans on using the money to pay off her mortgage and purchase a home with walls and a roof in Long Beach. Goooo, Heather!
