It was Saturday when my shiny (relatively) new computer started getting ornery and my patchy high-speed cable internet connection didn't even bother pretending it was connected anymore.
Dave's calls to Dell tech support were long but basically useless. I knew it all along -- or at least once the dreaded blue screen of death appeared. I hold out no hope for any machine that offers an error message containing the words 'hardware failure'.
By Tuesday both Dave and Dell were convinced and the new hard drive was shipped out.
So... here I am at the computer once again. I have an internet connection and a browser and an email program. I lost my bookmarks, my emails, my photos and my letters -- again. (The sudden and efficient death of the computer did not allow the time or the means for rescuing any of it, I'm afraid.)
And we didn't even make it to the one year anniversary...
Tomorrow we celebrate Dave & Emily's birthday(s) and I'm totally grateful that I have the computer back in time to get photos uploaded.
