This morning I ran across a passionate post on a weather-related bulletin board from a man who has been working on a project to help an elderly couple in Pearlington, MS rebuild their home and lives in the aftermath of the hurricane. They have made a little progress since last August -- but if you read my blog then you are painfully aware by now of just how these things happen: in fits and starts. Right now they are looking for help.
It just so happens that Mr. Tidwell (the poster mentioned above) has published a blog on the subject in the hopes of using the 'power of the blogosphere' to get the word out and get some prayers answered.
"Hello, my name is Warren Tidwell and I need help. This is a real and urgent call to action. An elderly couple in Mississippi lost everything in Katrina and they need us and soon. This isn’t a hoax or a joke. I’m working helping to rebuild their home."
Please take the time to check out the link. You never know if you may be just what they need at just this moment:

Does anyone know what happened with the Ladners? I did not see any later updates, thanks.
Yes! As a matter of fact their later story actually ran on MSNBC - an excerpt: "The two-by-fours inside the walls of George and Margaret Ladner's new home are inscribed with biblical verses, each written by one of the Alabama schoolchildren who raised money to buy the lumber."
My follow-up post can be found in the January 2007 archives. I just added a link to the follow-up to this original post too.
