SUN HERALD
As South Mississippi residents prepare for this hurricane season, they likely remember how the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina shut down businesses, some of them for weeks and months, which made getting basic supplies and necessities difficult to say the least.
The Sun Herald wants to know what you are buying this year that you either didn't have at all last year or didn't have enough of. Maybe you had three days worth of food and water, but that wasn't enough.
Or you're planning to buy a generator this year because weeks without power in the southern heat isn't pleasant.

Ah yes.. We are purchasing an inflatable raft and eleven life vests -- two children-sized, one toddler-sized, one infant-sized, one dog-shaped, and three tiny ones for the cats. We are also considering the purchase of a foghorn, a flare gun, weapons for the whole family, and plenty of ammunition. We are also shopping around the internet for some waterproof armoured vehicles and a solar-powered electric generator that floats. Boy! Sure wish we'd had the foresight to have such things around last year...

LOLLOL Anita this sounds farfetched but that's exactly how I feel too. Would people really think we didn't have a generator? The foghorn and flare gun made me laugh. Should we include seatbelts for added safety?
LOL Yes -- or at least a good length of sturdy rope for lashing ourselves to the staircase. :)
ROTFLMAO!!!! Thanks for the laugh. A girl here at work suggests you buy those Mary candles from the dollar store. You know, the ones with the Virgin Mary on them. Apparently they're long burning, safe (because they in a big glass holder) and - as someone else put it - you get brownie points for burning them.
We need to keep our sense of humor!
Thanks again!
