Hero of Katrina, sheriff may be prosecuted - Hurricanes' Aftermath - MSNBC.com: "Forrest County Sheriff Billy McGee commandeered two 18-wheelers full of ice from Camp Shelby, a Federal Emergency Management Agency staging area, after five days passed with little relief for residents living without electricity in the wake of the deadly storm."
Go, Sheriff McGee!!!!
If anything happens to this man other than a good pat on the back and having a statue erected in his honor.....
Then something dreadful is going on.
Of course -- if something dreadful wasn't going on already -- I'd guess that the two 18-wheelers of ice wouldn't have been sitting at that staging area at Camp Shelby at the direction of FEMA while the people it was sent to relieve were suffering and in danger of dying.
All I know is that in that first week -- whatever 'relief' we received came from the hands of 'criminals' like Sheriff McGee... People who dodged the roadblocks and sweet talked guardsmen. Heroes, all.
