USATODAY.com - FEMA admitted broken Katrina reponse, feared Mississippi riots, letters show: "'Will need big time law enforcement reinforcements tomorrow,' Carwile's e-mail continued. 'All our goodwill here in MS will be very seriously impacted by noon tomorrow. Have been holding it together as it is.'"
No kidding, Mr. Carwile!!!
And while FEMA officials were writing little whispered emails on September 1, 2005 -- this is what we were doing: That's it (Blog entry, Sept. 1, 2005). I am relieved in some really bizarre way -- that someone mildly official-sounding has admitted that we weren't being taken care of.
Read, people of the world -- read!! We were not whining. This was not something happening in the far reaches of our imaginations. Three days worth of food and water -- we are advised to stock three days worth of food and water in the event of an emergency... September 1st was the fourth day and help had still not arrived.
Gov. Jeb Bush recently admonished his constituents in Florida following Hurricane Wilma saying:
"People had ample time to prepare. It isn't that hard to get 72 hours worth of food and water." (http://www.palmbeachpost.com/storm/content/shared-gen/ap/

So now it's my turn. Hey, FEMA! You had ample time to prepare.........
