We went out to buy a sofa today and we found one at Willis Furniture. A sofa, a loveseat and three tables. I had to use the credit card because my bank card wouldn't work - but we will pay that off immediately with the money we received from FEMA for personal property. They should be delivered on Monday or Tuesday. It will be nice to have somewhere to sit -- but I don't think we can actually put them in the living room until we have walls again... We will have to cover them with blankets and plastic until all the work is done. But I feel so happy like we're actually getting something done.
Someone from the Carpet & Tile store should be here Monday to take some measurements for us about the floors. We can't figure out how to budget in replacing the floors until we know how much floor we're talking about. We're fortunate to have had tile in the kitchen and the bathrooms... and I have to give credit to my mother for saving our wood floor in the dining room (only a little repair work to be done there).. But we need some accurate measurements to decide what type of flooring we can afford throughout the rest of the house.
